Been a while...

Oops I think I may have been away a while again, I have been crafting, I'm just super busy at the moment, I'm getting married in 11 weeks and I haven't even made the wedding invites never mind sent them! Oh well all will be done.

Anywhoo enough waffling, I am actually here to show you the three cards I have made this week.

Number 1:

My first ever attempt at a slider card, it doesn't slide as smoothly as I'd like it to, but I am reasonably happy with it!

I am entering this card into the following competitions:

Number 2:

My first attempt at a shaker card (Ooohhh alot of firsts going on here!) Even though a couple of buttons have stuck, I am really pleased with this card, a bit time consuming, but well worth the effort, I will definitely be having another go at this!

I am entering this competition:
 Number 3:

And finally, I inked up this cute little cheerleader and coloured her AGES ago and never found a use for her, but I finally made her into a cute little card.

I am entering this card into the following competitions:

Right well, that's me ready for a bit of TV and a chill out.

Night all.

Pink and brown...

Pink and brown have to be one my favourite colour combinations at the moment. I recently bought some new paper packs only to realise how similar they are, not only to each other, but to my other favourite packs! Oh well, gotta work with what ya love lol.

Anywhoo just a quick post to showcase my latest competition card. And here it is:

I used a sugar nellie image and the 'little princess' stamp is just perfect for it (although I can' remember where it came from sorry) She is coloured in my promarkers (Obviously!) and I used the 'sugar and spice' paper pack, off the top of my head I can't remember the brand, Dovecraft I think but I wouln't quote me on it!

I am entering this card into the following competitions:

Right, that's it for me, I'm off for some yummy BBQ food!

Bit of a mess!

Morning all!

(Yes I did just say MORNING lol) I thought I would pop in just to let you all know I am still around and I am still crafting. I'm just so bogged down with lots of stuff at the moment, I can't seem to find a moment to myself!

On a higher note, me and my other half are going to give notice of intent to marry this afternoon!...I am UBER excited! We are (fingers crossed) getting married on the 29th of July! Only a very small do, just immediate family and then a nice big party afterward for everyone else! So you can look forward to handmade invites etc.

On top of wedding plans I haven't been very well so I have been crashing quite early on an evening at the moment (hence no crafty posts) But I think I'm on the mend so hopefully normal crafting service will resume shortly :-)

I do have a project in the works though, my baby sister turned 20 last week and we had a big girly night out, so I thought as a gift I would do her a mini album with all the nice photos in it. I have everything I need, except the motivation to get started lol.

Well I think that's about all my news for the moment. Hopefully I will be able to update with a project and some pictures shortly.

Mother's day...

Hello everyone!

I hope you are all fine and dandy! I, myself am feeling rather chipper, despite the late hour and seemingly permanent lack of sleep!

I wanted to show you the mother's day card that I have been working on, it is finally finished, and BOY am I proud! Well here it is:

I used a stamped image from Wild Rose studios, and I coloured her with my promarkers (Geez I love those pens!)

I used another type of fold for this card, I scored down the center of the front of the card and then folded it back on itself, with the main image hanging over the edge I think the effect is wonderful!

I added a die-cut oval to the inside for my personal message, and when the card is closed flat, you can't see it.

I added some punched flowers just to finish the card off.

I am entering this card in the following competitions:

  • The shabby tea room - Challenge #55 'colour pallet' (funnily enough my eyes were drawn to the flowers on the table, hence the colours of my card!)
  • Papertake weekly - Sketch #54 (I turned the sketch on it's side, I hope it is clear enough...)
  • Colour create - Challenge #67 'Pastels'
  • CES Challenges - challenge #29 'Die-cut crazy'

I love this card sooooo much that I decided to make a purple version for my mother in law:

I also wanted to show you, the gift I have made for my mum, for mother's day:

(Ignore the grubby finger prints, it will be polished before I give it to her, I promise!)

The message says: 'There is no way to be a perfect mother, but a million ways to be an amazing one'
It really sums up how I feel about my mum!

Righteo, off to bed with myself! To try and sleep while my fella is at work....yea right!

Night all!

Tri-Fold birthday card...

Hello crafty peoples!

This makes a nice change...I find myself blogging quite early in the day! (Not at 2 o'clock in the morning like usual!)

I am on a bit of a card making spree at the moment, and the spree is 'new techniques' I am trying to make a different shaped card, or use a technique I haven't used before at the moment.

The technique for the moment is 'Tri-Fold' There are LOADS of video tutorials for a tri-fold card on YouTube.

So I had an attempt and this was the result:

The front:

The Card when it is open:

Really cute cupcake! (I love these stamps!)

Close-up of some of the embellishments.

I think it turned out really well! I will definitely be trying this technique again! Now cleverly I have managed to make this card, so that it covers a few of the competitions that I like to enter. They are:

  • Shabby Tearoom - Challenge #54 - 'Bingo' (I chose, buttons, brads and dies/punches)

  •  Papertake weekly - Challenge 'It's a Mum thing'

  • I love promarkers - Challenge #58 - Theme 'Go Dotty'

  • I will have a new update soon, I have many projects in the workings at the moment.

    My first Anya stamp!

    Evening all!

First off I want to say I GOT A CUTTLEBUG! Sorry, I got a tad bit excited there, but hey, can you blame me? My wonderful boyfriend bought me a cuttlebug on Thursday and I have to say I absolutely LOVE it! Granted, I only have 2 sets of dies but I will most definitely be investing in more!

OK, onto tonight's card, I have been working on this card for a little while, I kept putting it down to do other things and I try not to craft at the weekend, because my boyfriend has the weekends off from work.

    Anywhoo, here it is:

I think she is absolutely precious! She is just so pretty! I used two stamps to do this, the girl and the fence, and I painstakingly had to fill bits in freehand, because I hadn't heard of 'masking' Now that I have learned how to use the 'Masking' technique to use multiple stamps I will use it instead!

I have used a 'sping' theme for this card and the colours make me smile! I have also used 3 different types of yellow paper/card.

    This card is going to be entered into the following competitions;

OK, that's it for me tonight, I have a driving lesson tomorrow so I really should be refreshed for that!

    Night all.

    Happy trio of yellow...

    Evening all!

(Or should I say, welcome to the early hours of the morning!)

I wanted to show you all my latest creation:

Here are some close-ups of the individual cards:

            Card number 1: Little Tweetheart

              Card number 2: Happy Birdie

Card number 3: Love is in the air.

As you can see from the above image, these cards are 'easel' cards. I have seen many crafters use this technique and I always wanted to try it out! It is sooooo much simpler than I would have ever guessed and it is so effective, don't ya think?

I used digital stamps for the toppers, and I'm ashamed to say I don't remember where I got them from! They were freebies though and I found them through google! If I do manage to find them I will put up a link!

When I look at these cards they make me want to smile, maybe it's the cute images or maybe it's the 'Happy' colours! I'm not sure...

I am entering these cards (as one) into the following competitions:

I also wanted to give you all a sneaky peaky at two of the projects I am currently working on...Are you ready?

    ..............

    ..............

    ..............

    Here Goes...

    .............

    .............

    .............

    And...

There you go, not much to see, but enough to make you want to see more I hope!

I better get some sleep otherwise I am going to be EXHAUSTED in the morning!

    Night all!

    I'm back...

    Hello all,

No pictures tonight, I just wanted to pop in to explain where I have been and why I have been gone so long.

First off, my other half had 10 days of work so I was determined to keep off the computer and away from my crafting area, to spend the time with him. Also this week I have started on a health kick, Doing at least an hours workout every night.
I will get fit and slim lol!!!!!

I have been popping onto my favourite competition blogs and have seen some awesome competitions I want to enter, I just need to find the time to get my craft on!
(Also have to find the time to make mother's day cards, my sister's birthday card AND Easter cards!)

All this while being a full time mum and taking driving lessons! Blimey I lead a busy life lol!

OK time for a well earned chill out (while watching the Rocky Horror picture show!)

    Night all

    Thankyou card...

    Hiya!

Once again I find myself up late and unable to sleep, so I will listen to a little of 'The Offspring' and blog my latest creation.

    Here it is:

This card is to be entered in three different competitions (Details to follow at the end of this post) The themes for which are: 'Thankyou' 'Putting on the glitz' and paper piecing is a requirement for another one.

    Onto some close-ups...

Here you can see all the individual competition requirements, The paper piecing, and the 'Thankyou' sentiment, and the 'Glitzy' stars and flowers on the side...

Paper piecing close-up, the dress is from spotty paper and I chose a textured brown paper for her cute little boots...

A little 'glitzy' brad to finish the ribbon...

It's a small card (only 4" x 4") and it's fairly simple, but I think it has the desired effect.

The competitions I am entering this card into are:

I should really compile a list of all the competitions I like to enter shouldn't I? That way all you lovely people can have a look yourselves! Deffinately on my To-Do list!

I'm still not feeling sleepy so I am going to listen to some more tunes and browse some papercraft sites and blogs for a while!

    Night all.

    Another competition card...Very blue...

Wow, I have just looked at the clock and it's almost one in the morning! I need to learn to go to bed earlier! But hey, I'm sure I'm not the only one who crafts at stupid o'clock at night am I?

On to my newest competition card, I have used another one of Sugar Nellie's stamps, again it is a Gorjuss girl, I just can't get enough of them!

Here she is, don't you just think she is beautiful?

And here is the entire card:

Finally I added a ribbon flower,

I can't even remember where I first saw this technique, but I think it is super effective! All you have to do is cut 8 equal lengths of ribbon (remembering that half of this length will be the size of the 'petals') Glue them to a circle of card, and then finish it with a cute button in the center!

I am entering this card is the following competitions:

The sugar bowl - Theme: Colour photo
Charisma Cardz - Theme - Fantasy

Ok I should really get some sleep, what with a baby who will want feeding in a few hours!

    Goodnight all!

    Flowery birthday card.

    Evening,

It's been one of those days, nothing perticular going on but I'm still shattered and feel like I have been really busy!

Anyway as promised last night here are the pictures of the birthday card I have been working on.

I made this card for my Nanna, so the theme had to be grown up, I chose the colours because I liked the look of the papers together.

For the flowers I found this wonderful tutorial at PassionforPromarkers, here is the link for those of you that are interested in trying it.

I used my trusty ProMarkers to colour the flowers, I think they look wonderul, don't you?

So there you go a wonderful, grown-up birthday card. Let me know what you think! :D

And lastly I found this website, it looks interesting and the competitions look different, I may just have a go!

EDIT: I completely forgot to mention that I have entered this card in challenge #52 at I love promarkers!

    Happy crafting everyone!

    Super shiny ribbon board...

Just a quick post this evening, lots to do, little time to do it!

I was browsing 'craft room' videos on youtube the other day and I came across a wonderful idea; 'ribbon boards' This got me thinking, and i consulted the Oracle that is Google, I found a wonderful tutorial from Shelley Detton over at 7layerstudio.typepad.com the tutorial is HERE

    Here is my attempt:

The only real change I made was, instead of using canvas I used an old pinboard and sprayed the frame black first.
What do you think? I'm quite happy with the outcome!
New post coming tomorrow, I am working on a birthday card for my Nanna so I will update with those piccys tomorrow!
